In 1992, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed made the pioneering decision to winter his horses in the milder climate of Dubai, to help them let down after a long season and prepare for the next season's racing.
Trainers Saeed bin Suroor and Charlie Appleby have seen their horses thrive during the winter months in Dubai and it has been a big factor in the success of horses such as Masar (who won the G1 Derby at Epsom, UK in June 2018) and Blue Point (G1 King's Stand Stakes winner at Royal Ascot in June 2018) – two who wintered well in Dubai last season.
Godolphin is the global thoroughbred breeding and horseracing team founded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.
